Brian Martin is the founder of Makers of Memories. As a child,
Brian would witness, and at times experience, the beatings that
his mother received at the hand of her boyfriend. Each night
brought with it another opportunity to stay awake, listen for the
yelling to begin and again run into the living room to try and
make it stop. These were the memories that dominated his
childhood.
Then, at the age of six, Brian's father was released from prison
and provided he and his mother with some money to take a vacation.
It was on this trip that he slept in peace, saw his mother happy
and formed a memory that stuck with him for the rest of his
life...a memory that drove him to one day be able to provide this
peace for himself, his mother and anyone else for whom he cared.
Now, as a successful businessman, husband and father of two, Brian
established Makers of Memories to provide battered mothers and
their children with the same gift that his father provided to him.
A memory that can last a lifetime...a memory formed during that
magical moment called vacation.
And together with noted humanitarians David Rich and David Bach,
their collective vision is to create a national organization that
will celebrate the creation of its one-millionth memory in 2020.
