Makers of Memories Foundation's (MOM) second annual fundraising event, Creating Memories For A Lifetime, was held on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Prince George Ballroom in New York City. The evening was a resounding success and raised funds to provide victims of domestic violence an opportunity to enjoy their first family vacation, so they can form memories that will change their lives forever.
David Bach, the author of six consecutive national bestsellers, including two consecutive number one New York Times bestsellers, Start Late, Finish Rich and The Automatic Millionaire, served as the lively and entertaining Master of Ceremonies for the evening. The event featured a special awards presentation in which Makers of Memories was proud to honor Carolyn Fish, the Executive Director of Rockland Family Shelter, Inc., with the Power of Hope Award for her courageous perseverance in her commitment towards helping children who are the victims of domestic violence. In addition, a mother who came on the Makers of Memories trip to Walt Disney World this past summer delivered a heartfelt speech expressing her gratitude and appreciation. It is because of the support from people like you that Makers of Memories has been able to impact the lives of so many mothers and their children in such a meaningful and life-changing way.
The event also featured an exciting live Fund A Family auction, a silent auction and the first-ever screening of the Makers of Memories Short Film produced by Nathan Bridges.
We would like to extend a special thank you and acknowledgement to all of the donors, Board members and Event Committee members that helped make this event such a memorable evening. Also, thank you to our generous sponsors for making the event possible, including: Continental Airlines, Brand Connections, FinishRich Media, ICC Decision Services and The Stern Family Philanthropic Foundation.
