an insight>
A leading media company conducted a study that
asked adults to recall their fondest memories of childhood. Can
you guess the most common response?
The vast majority of warm childhood memories occurred while on
vacation.
Imagine that. 15,000 days to form memories - but we formed our fondest over the period of four or five of those days. Now imagine if all those memories never existed.
These vacation memories are so powerful they often form an anchor
for children to return to over and over again, recalling these
memories when they want to feel better, or when they want to
dream. These are the kind of memories that pull a child through
difficult times, serving as a driving force for what they want to
provide for themselves and their own families someday.
Ask yourself whether this makes sense in your own life. Are some
of your fondest memories as a child ones that took place while you
were on vacation?
Imagine if all those memories never existed.
